Call for Submissions: 2025 Volume of the Journal of Jungian Scholarly Studies
The Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies invites submissions for the 2025 volume of the Journal of Jungian Scholarly Studies (JJSS) an academic journal published online at https://jungianjournal.ca/.
Deadline for Submissions: October 31, 2024
Submissions are welcome based on scholarly papers delivered at the Society’s 19th conference of research in Jung and analytical psychology held in Albuquerque, New Mexico in June 2024. The theme of the conference was “Theory to Action: Taking Jungian Ideas into the World”.
Beyond the theme of the conference, the JJSS seeks to publish interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scholarly papers on all topics that interpret, expand, apply, critique, and/or theorize Jungian and post-Jungian concepts in order to illuminate psychology and other areas of study.
Scholarly papers are peer reviewed and may be written on topics that include but need not be limited to the sciences, religion, philosophy, history, culture, myth and fairy tale, literature, art, sculpture, music, film, architecture, the environment, gender, sexuality, race, politics, and theory.
The Journal seeks submission to publish in the following material in the following sections:

Scholarly essays (typically 4,000 to 12,000 words). Submissions are peer reviewed. One submission per author. These essays may be in written form, or in audiovisual form (length 10-15 minutes).

Conversations in the Field essays (1,000 to 2,000 words in length) on all topics. These are intended to be shorter, more provocative interventions, or ideas in progress. These are usually curated, not peer reviewed. One submission per author.

Arts and Culture reviews e.g. film, theatre, exhibitions (1,000 to 1,500 words). These might mark major releases, premieres, retrospectives or anniversaries. As with the book reviews tese should be scholarly and maintain the Jungian focus of the journal. These are curated by the editorial team.

Poetry original poems no longer than 250 words are curated by the editorial team. No more than three (3) submissions per poet.

Visual Art e.g. painting, photography, sculpture, and drawings or other audiovisual work (length no more than 5 minutes) are curated by the editorial team in connection with the Art Director. No more than three (3) works of art, please. Submissions may be made in more than one category.
